Seasoned Traveler at 8 Months!

Hello Friends!

We just returned from a great trip to the Northwest to see wonderful friends and family. Audrey is SUCH a great traveler! She enjoys seeing all the people who adore her. Lately, she's very excited about studying faces with her eyes and her hands....which can be a little painful, as she hasn't learned 'gentle' yet. But we're told that will come with time.

In Washington, Audrey had fun meeting friends Jen, David, and Shawn. We went on some fun walks, shopping, and to the wharf on the Columbia River.

In Bend, Audrey got to meet her great grandma and aunties, and see lots of Harry's old classmates at his 20 year highschool reunion. What a friendly class he had. Some of the events required babysitting, and Harry's parents were the best for the job! Another highlight was a dip in the Little Deschutes River behind Grandma and Grandpa Strassers' house.

Audrey got to try some new foods on vacation. She recently passed all levels on the swallow study, so we are working on getting her to enjoy eating. On our trip, she had her first taste of fry, milkshake, and chicken schnitzel. She REALLY wanted some of Dad's Dunkle beer, but we drew the line there. Yikes, Mom and Dad may gain some weight while trying to introduce Audrey to all the yummy foods!! Audrey's been enjoying sitting up with very little support. She's working on turning over to each side, which is a little more tricky for vision impaired kids. We practice every day. She also loves playing with her musical toys, making a racket while mom cooks. Books are a favorite as well. Audreyis just changing and growing every day...it's amazing to behold!

Audrey has a week off from summer school and then she'll be going back to Anchor School full time (two days a week). She's also going to start Physical Therapy and Feeding School at Childrens' Hospital. We will have a busy fall for sure!

Thank you for all of your continued prayers and loving support!
