BIg Girl Bed!

Can you believe Audrey is 7 months old today?! We had to move her to her 'big girl bed,' the crib upstairs. It was a little sad to not have her right by our room anymore. We have a good monitor so we can hear her every squeak, and luckily she's a great sleeper at night. She has taken to quietly cuddling her favorite stuffed animals when she goes to sleep or wakes up. A big smile lights up her face when she sees us above her in the morning. She's just too cute!
Her health has been good. She is gaining weight right on her curve. The g-tube is working better all the time. Audrey is eating pureed food by mouth, but isn't really that interested. It's hard because she's full from her g-tube feedings and doesn't associate food with filling her up. It's almost like she tries it just to keep us happy! So we will be meeting with some feeding specialists at Children's hospital in a month to see what we can do to motivate her a little more. Cutting back on formula will help, but we also need to monitor her weight to make sure she's still growing well.
It has been so exciting watching Audrey grow and develop. She loves to use her voice, stand up with our support, and sit up and play with her toys. She's grabbing things with both hands and chewing on everything in sight. She loves her stand up bouncy chair, as well as sitting up with a little cushion support. She's been going to physical therapy and we're learning how to encourage her to the next step, such as rolling over and balancing when she sits up. Today the physical therapist worked with Audrey in a kiddie pool, in a laundry basket. It was so neat, we need to go out and get a kiddie pool for this summer!
As always, Anchor is a great place to go with lots of loving support. Audrey was in their instructional slide show, used as an example of a baby learning to be responsive and expressive over time. She's a star student!
Audrey and Mom flew to Spokane to see family and friends at the beginning of this month. It was so fun to spend time with aunties, cousins, and grandparents, as well as seeing dear old friends in Spokane. We will be heading to Bend, Oregon to see Harry's family and go to his 20 year highschool reunion in July. We're looking forward to that trip, for sure. Audrey hasn't met her Strasser Grandma or Great Aunts and Uncles yet.
Thank you for all of your continued prayers and support! We look forward to visiting with all of you as Audrey grows and grows.
