Prayer Request!

We wanted to thank you all for your prayers, support, and lovin'! We are sending this request for your prayers and good thoughts this Thursday. Audrey has been having problems with reflux and throwing up her food along with her NG-tube, (we were in the Emergency room 2 times this weekend!!), so we're going to get her esophagus tightened up to repair those problems, as well as a little temporary portal put in her stomach to feed her for the time being. It's called a Nissen procedure and a G-tube: they do a lot of them at Children's Hospital. I'm excited that we got a highly reccommended surgeon to do the procedure.

We will continue to work on Audrey's swallow and everyone is positive about her learning to eat regularly with a little time and therapy.

I'm including a picture of Audrey with her Great Aunt Carmel. Carmel was so nice to offer to babysit for us this last weekend. We took her up on her offer and had a great time at dinner with our friends. When we got home, we found out that poor Carmel had just watched Audrey throw up her NG tube! So the three of us got to hold down little unhappy Audrey while we threaded it all the way from her nose to her stomach! We give Aunty Carmel big points for her free babysitting AND nurse work. What a gal!

So all should be well with the surgery...I'm most worried about the anesthesia for our little 10 pounder, but it should be fine...Children's hospital specializes in such things. Plus, Audrey's a tough little cookie! We will be in the hospital for a few nights afterwards. How exciting that we have a laptop to use now so we can stay in touch with the world! We'll let you all know how it went.
